• Whilst completing my foundation art at The Central School of Art, London 1978, I entered Andrew Logan's Alternative Miss World Pageant as Miss Snow White. In 1978 I began a 4 year course in Fashion and Journalism at St Martins School of Art. I participated in the Alternative Fashion Show where the students challenged the status quo of the fashion school. I designed and made a wired crinoline skirt with silver and gold spray stencil patterns on interlining fabric. However, thanks to Wilma, (see exhibitions) I soon realised that my paint brush was more satisfying than scissors and transferred onto the Fine Art Painting course. Directing two films on Super 8 in colour, Dolls '80, 10 mins, featuring Rebecca du Pont de Bie, Mo Tomany and Wilma. And Fairground '81, 5 mins.

• I went to New York to see the emerging graffiti scene I had been hearing about through the grapevine. I met up with a graffiti artists Fab 5 Freddy, Futura 2000 and many others. I developed a tag as Atlanta, and was instructed in the art of graffiti under The Williamsburg Bridge, NY. I returned to London for my BA degree show with my newly inspired artwork rolled up under my arm. My thesis on the emerging Hip Hop Graffiti culture was published in an art magazine ZG and I received a Bachelor of Art in Fine Art from St Martins School of Art, London in 1981.

• From my graffiti experience came action art for various London night clubs, The Titanic and The Language Lab. I worked in Portobello Road at an antique stall and in costume and prop hire houses. I was the girl in the video in a number of music videos most notable, Come Dancing by The Ray Davis of The Kinks, directed by Julian Temple as it won an MTV award in 1982.

• In 1983 I began my career as a scenic apprentice to Tony Common on the film, The Company of Wolves. Employed initially as I had experience of 'painting big', I was set to work painting tree branches on the studio cyclorama 30 ft up on a moving tower. In 1984 I became a union member of the ACTT as a Scenic Artist and completed a BBC course in Design and Drafting.

• Commercial clients have included ICI, Sony, Furgueson, K-Tel, Visa, British Telecom, Dulux, Kellogg’s, the Fruit 'n' Fibre cereal product executed in an animated cartoon style. Batchelors Cuppa Soup, The forgers studio with reproductions of the Mona Lisa, Turner and Picasso. Hovis bread, Dairy Lea, Kit Kat, Milky Bar, Ski Yoghurt. Kool Aid drink with King Kong set in black and white, desert gas station with perspex jug pumps. John Marstons Pedigree Bitter, McKewans Lager and Becks Beer. Heinz, Oodle Doodles, a set of oversized children's drawings.Witchy Hats game for Schmict Spiele a fantasy landscape with sky. Sindy Doll relaunch. Doritos, New York set with scaled 1/3rd train all covered with graffiti. Dove Bar and Galaxy Minstrels for Mars Chocolate, Kodak, Woolworths, childrens clothes Eveready, School gym football murals and stylised flame motif car.

• Photographic advertising clients include, Trust House Forte, Slumberland Beds, Conran/Habitat, The Cotton Council and Waterstones the booksellers. Marks and Spencer and VW. Styling for Kronen 'Thier' beer. Music Videos for Pepsi and Shirley, Boy George, Samantha Fox, Girls School, Paul Young's 'Wherever I Leave My Hat'. Dr. Feelgood, The Vells, Amazulu, Flesh for Lulu, Duran Duran, Malcolm McClaren, Fredricks Goldman Jones and many more A lot of the music videos were completed with the wonderful Libby McCulloch.

• In 1993 I was commissioned by The British Film Institute, a government enterprise to paint a set pieces for The Museum of the Moving Image exhibition of ‘Méliès. Also for the BFI the exhibition, ‘Movies go to the Wall’, 1994 a permanent mural for the children’s department. This was designed to interest young children and illustrated the idea of feet in film. This was completed at the institute as a work in progress with participition from visiting children.

• Other commissions for architects include: Nigel Coates, Omniate Limited, murals for the Honeymoon Hotel in Sapporo, Japan 1991 and paintings for Tokyo Golf Club 1994, Japan. 1991 Rothko inspired screens for Peter Kent Interior Design Associates office, Clerkenwell, London. Ullathorn and Chanin Architectural Associates, Quasar Game '94 at The Trocadero, Piccadilly, London.

• Colour consultancy, murals and commissions for private clients including Lady Katherine Mansell Lewis's underwater bathroom mural, and Mrs. McAlpine's Charolais cows. Paint finishes in oil or acrylic marbling, wood graining and trompe l'oeil all available on request.

• I have also have experience of art direction, styling, prop buying and set dressing and have designed and made costumes. Occasionally designing and executing themed parties. In 1994 I art directed and designed the costume for Kama Sutra II an educational video.
